DescriptionIt is the first Greek island that you find on your way from Italy to Greece. It is a nice place where you can stop some time before continuing your sailing to Corfu. It looks like a Greek embassy in the middle of Otranto Channel. It is a mountainous and paceful place, full of paths where you can make long walks enjoying wonderful views on Adriatic and Ionian Sea. When the weather is good, from the top of the mountain, you may see Salento coast! In the village, that is around the port, there are various tavernas where you can taste Greek specialities and fresh fish. There are some bar and a couple of supermarkets. Just what you need for a relaxing holiday far away from the daily city routine. There are few cars and few roads so there are no traffic problems. On the island you can find some small hotels and apartments. If you want to stay there you are supposed to book in advance. For your sunbathing needs you have various bays around the island, most of them can be reached by the sea only, but it is not a problem as you can rent a boat there or find somebody that can take you there with his boat. But the best surprise is in the evening, when, looking to the sky, you will discover how many stars you can see from this island... it's worth to go there just for this!
